Community Corner: Week of May 15

Belltown Citizens on Patrol Thursday Night Walk

Picture
Tuesday, May 15 (Tonight!)
7:00 pm
The Belltown Citizens on Patrol (BCOP) hold weekly walks of the neighborhood and engage with the Police Department and other City agencies about public safety issues in Belltown. Meet others in the neighbor and bond over your love of Belltown... all while being the eyes and ears on the street. BCOP meets at Seattle Heights, 2600 2nd Ave. Thursday night.

And remember that you are strongly encouraged (and with SPD consent) to call 911 whenever you see a situation that looks threatening, dangerous or criminal. By doing so you are alerting the SPD to how much undesirable activity is actually happening here, and even if they can't respond immediately, the call gets logged. We are the eyes on the street. Let's start making the criminals feel uncomfortable here instead of the other way around.

People's Belltown Republic Clean-up Crew

Picture
Sundays @ 3:00
2nd and Blanchard
Sick of all the trash around Belltown? If you haven't heard about People's Belltown Republic yet, check out the story we did on them here. Then meet up with them this Sunday at 3:00, grab a trash bag and lend a hand. They meet at the corner of 2nd and Blanchard. Introduce yourself. They're a very friendly bunch and they often grab a beer afterwards.
